xxxxQuotes from Martin Luther...ON FAITH x xx1
Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, so sure and certain that a man would stake his life on it a thousand times . . . O, it is a living, busy, active, mighty thing, this faith; and so it is impossible for it not to do good works incessantly.

Interfaith Hospitality Network now requires that all volunteers who come into direct contact with program guests have a background check done. It is a very basic background check. There is no cost to the individual and the results are confidential. While I will be calling individuals who normally volunteer, if you would also like to be included, please contact me. On many of our host weeks, there is an additional need for drivers to transport the families to and from the Day Center. Please call me if you are interested. Blessings! Charlene Pickart (390-3820)

Everything For Sight.org in Colorado Springs will be our pennies recipient for 2022. This organizations provides eye care for people who cannot afford it.  $50.00 will provide a complete eye exam for a child and $250.00 could restore to a cataract patient.  To date we have collected $67.83.  Please continue to save your pennies and bring them to church.  We also take any other change you wish to put in the container.

Used Easter, Mother’s Day, Graduation, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Birthday, Thinking of You Card Fronts. Please remember to bring in your used greeting card fronts for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. They recycle your used greeting cards and create new holiday and all occasion greeting cards. Recycled cards are sold to support our programs and services for abused, neglected and homeless children, young adults and families. Only the card front can be used (please check to be sure the backside of the front of the card is clear of any handwriting, etc.) They cannot accept Hallmark, Disney or American Greeting cards and 5″ x 7″ size or smaller is preferred.

Thank you so much for continuing to save stamps for Stamps for a Living who use these canceled stamps for support for their clients. They make pictures, etc. with them and sell them in their gift shop. They no longer get as many as they used to since more and more people do not use “snail mail” any more. So these are greatly appreciated. This month we sent off 2 ½ pounds.

Lap robes were taken to Lutheran Family Services to be given to children in foster care and to refugee families. They were very pleased to receive so many lap robes at one time. Since this is an ongoing need we will continue to crochet lap robes and prayer shawls. Thank you to all for crocheting the many squares necessary. More information on Lutheran Family Services is on the bulletin board in the narthex.

The money will be blessed and dedicated during service. Thank Offering boxes provide us the opportunity to show our gratitude for our daily blessings. Sometimes our blessings are BIG and sometimes they are all the things we take for granted; our very existence.

If you do not know about our Thank Offering program, please talk to Carolyn Walter or Eileen Carter.

Thanks to the generosity of the congregation and the women of the FLCW almost $300.00 and a large tub filled with school supplies was delivered to Lutheran Family Services.  The money will be used to buy backpacks and other supplies still needed for school for foster and refugee children.  Our donations were very much appreciated!
